Awkwardness

The lady tottalllyyy dropped her towel today next to me, bent over and went to town... nakey lotioning in the locker room

I was house sitting/Shianne sitting/dog sitting my cousin over the past 6 days ( I say Shianne b/c she says "I'm 13, not a baby!) anyway we went to the movies, forgot to put the puppy in his cage, and her momma all the way from Vegas calls and says...uhhh the police just called me and the house alarm is going off, did you guys put zoey in his cage.  WHOPPSIEEEE --not awkward but it was funny..after we realized no one actually broke in ;)

After 1 WHOLE LONG SUPER VERY LONG month I get to see my baseball player tomorrow!!!

I resisted the temptation that is Fat Tuesday and did not eat a paczki!!!!

Well today is Fat Tuesday...has anyone had their really healthy paczki yet today?  I skipped out haha, not exactly good for the hips or work out schedule.  Ohhhh but I do loovvveee those jelly, custard, cream filled, overly plump pastries! When I was little my mom used to always have them for us before school on Fat Tuesday.

For those of you that don't know Paczki Day or Fat Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday and the last day of Mardi Gras.  Everyone loads up on rich delicious foods before Lent begins.

My work is having a Paczki eating contest today....can you imagine what the King or Queen of Paczki is going to feel like after that contest...probably not much like a King or Queen eeekk!!!!

Oh but don't they look delish!

I've always loved Mardi Gras masks...I think they are so beautiful! My mom and dad went to New Orleans when I was younger and brought me one back, my friend Karyn went our freshman year in college and brought me one back then too! Love them!

Cheers to Girl Talk!!!

Last night was the Girl Talk Concert I posted about yesterday!  It was in a word insane! If you love dancing, crazy loud music and can stand sweaty people please please go to one of his concerts!! We made our way all the way to the front (well not on the stage because I didn't want to get smooshed, but pretty much) it was crazy! Next time I might stay a little farther back, the closer you get the smooshier it gets and your literally pushing people and trying not to fall. I'm 5'2 and 118lbs...that was a challenge!! So excited to see him again at Bonnaroo!  The concert was def worth being sleepy this morning!

I try to get up early, my goal was to get up at 5:15 every morning to have time to relax and enjoy my morning.  This morning I realized...why do this to yourself..5:30 is what works for you.  I am perfectly fine when I finally get up but the actually getting out of my bed part ahhhh I'm not so good at.


I'm going to the Girl Talk Concert tonight!!! Yes! This will be my first one and I'm so excited to get broken in before Bonnaroo this summer!  More on Bonnaroo later.  Now if you haven't yet, you should click the Girl Talk link I just put in here.  I use his old mixes to work out to..uhhh best work out music everr!!!

Hmmm now I have to spend all work trying to figure out what I'll wear tonight....his concerts are like a major dance party, I've been around long enough to learn the just don't wear heels rule.  Maybe I'll break out the chucks!

So like I said I've been feeling kind of overwhelmed ahhh crazziness!

Well Saturday ( I know and I'm just now writing this) I went Thrifting and what was even more perfect?! Everything was half off?! Say what?! How does that even happen!

So here's what I got...
wait..before I begin, I apologize for the really bad quality of my pictures.  My camera is no bueno.

This skirt is so Kelly Kapowski and I love it! how cute with just a white tank tucked in, black flip flops or black kitten heel flip flops.  I like to go really simple in the summer, I get way too hot to get too fancy!

I wanted to leave that store with a purse so bad! I was looking for a retro, vintage or 80's look. Then I came across this modern day vintage inspired one I LOVE IT!

I've been looking for a pair of nude shoes for a while now.  I want a pair that have the platform on the sole you know the Christian Louboutin look.  These aren't exactly what I've been looking for but they are the cutest little addition to my shoe closet. ( hahah and I Lysoled the inside)

uhh and you can simply never have too many of these bags.  Do you guys love my polka dot sheets ;)  I love this type of pattern so much.  Not the polka dots on the sheets, the pattern on the bags ;)

The main reason I even went thrifting was to find some glass jars or something similar to store all the craziness in my room.  I only found 1 but I love it! My Grandma actually has some dishes that belonged to my Great Grandma this same color waiting on me!

Earlier that Day we celebrated GG's Birthday!!! and I got to meet baby Spiros for the first time! Its so amazing holding brand new babies!

Do you guys like Dancing with the stars? I'm not a hater but I don't watch it regularly, if I happen to catch it fantastic. Anywho, I'm sure you all know they reveieled the contestants, is it just me or do every season they say..."i've never even heard of these people" "this is going to be the worst season ever" hmm....

I do love Kendra though! Yayyy Kendra!

Cheers to Finidng Strength in God

I've been under a lot of stress lately and for some reason the stress has taken me by storm this week (started over the weekend).  This devotion popped up in my inbox today from Joel Osteen and what PERFECT timing it was.  It reminded me that I need to find my strength in God. He will get me through this and guide me with strength and wisdom.  What an awesome God he is!

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak" (Isaiah 40:29, NIV)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Oftentimes, when we are facing difficulty, it's easy to become weary in our minds and emotions.  Trying to figure it all out in our own strength can be exhausting.  But we weren't meant to figure everything out, we were meant to trust.  We were meant to call on Him and let Him be the hero of our story!  

The Bible says in Isaiah that when you cry to God for help, as soon as He hears, He will answer you! He will give you strength when you are weary and increase your power when you feel weak.  No matter what is going on in your life today, God is greater than any obstacle or difficulty you may be facing.  Do you need strength to overcome a challenge in your life? Do you need power to stand strong in the midst of a storm?  Call on Him and He will hear you.  Open your heart, and by faith, receive His strength and might.  Let Him empower you to live in victory and overcome all the days of your life!

A Prayer 

Father in heaven, thank You for hearing and answering my prayers.  Fill me with Your strength and power today.  I trust You are working things out for my good as I surrender every area of my life to You.

Hello friends...please don't be mad at me ;) I still love you! 

This weekend was crazy/crazy short, well it seemed that way to me.  I didn't have time to do anything I needed to get done.  I apologize for the brief Hiatus, I promise to have a new post up this evening/tonight.  Even if I have to stay up past Teen Mom.  I know I know, yes I dooo watch that show haha.  

I love these Felix the cat clocks!   I secretly have always wanted one, wouldn't it look so cute in a retro kitchen or basement? I think so.  Even a kids play room!
